I was born in a room assisted by a women who had no medical qualifications but had participated in many a births using neem leaves and warm water.
It was also the day when we worship our main lady deity but there was a death in family on same day and thus puja could not be held on same day for many years before. And the curse would go if someone was born on that day and thus there was rejoice.
I dont remember what happened for many years to come.
